“Kim is incredibly adept at creating an elevated aesthetic through her art direction and design. She sees and appreciates beauty, and knows how to produce it on demand. She's endlessly curious and is constantly learning and improving her skill sets. She is comfortable in multiple roles and easily adapts to new mediums. I've always admired her many talents and found her a pleasure to work with.”

“Kim is a master at graphic design, and I would work with her again (and hope to!) in a heartbeat. The first thing about her that truly impressed me was her ability to figure out my preferences for design better than I knew them myself. In our initial interview, I told her I wanted something "traditional", but she kept asking me questions for the better part of an hour to really understand what my values were and what my vision was. When she later presented me with choices, she offered me a couple of traditional designs like I had requested, but also showed me something non-traditional that spoke to me immediately and completely. Throughout my entire campaign, random strangers reached out to let me know how catchy they found my logo to be.

Kim was also incredibly easy to work with, and continued to demonstrate her creativity and flexibility no matter how much I put on her plate. My original plan was to send three pieces of direct mail using one overarching design. As the campaign evolved, I instead decided I wanted to send five mailers and have each one look notably different so voters would recognize that they hadn't already seen each one. Despite the huge increase in workload, Kim managed to deliver on all five designs in ways that were unique and eye-catching while still also undeniably tying back into the overall theme to ensure a feeling of continuity. Each time I asked for another design, I said to myself "I'm sure this one will have to feel disconnected from the others" and each time Kim proved me wrong. Overall, Kim demonstrated a creativity, a flexibility, and a vision that completely blew me away.”

I wholeheartedly recommend her to anyone who asks.

“I’d never done any branding work before and I was a jumble of indecision and enthusiasm going in too many directions. Kim listened to my story, then went by herself to research my presence on-line. She came back with the perfect logo for me. I pull it up on the computer to look at it all the time and it gives me hope and energy. My team loves it, too!”

Kim is a joy both professionally and personally. I can confidently say this because I’ve worked with Kim in multiple positions for over a decade. We were co-workers at Lands’ End and Duluth Trading, and at my current company I have been fortunate enough to be her client when we’ve needed her help as a freelancer. No matter when I’ve worked with her over the years, Kim has consistently brought a wonderful and vibrant energy to her work, always up for anything and ready to tackle any challenge thrown at her.

I like to think of Kim as a creative triple-threat. Her design skills are at the highest caliber, her work ethic and project management skills are unquestionable, and she brings a warm sense of fun to even the toughest project. As a designer myself, I know what a challenge it is to keep these elements in balance. I am confident in saying you can’t go wrong with Kim Strother.”
